New snapshot finally available

Hello everybody,

Finally, I managed today to upload the latest snapshot pack to the downloads section of our project page on code.google.com . Well, to be honest I still wasn't able to upload, so I asked piranna to help me out :) So here it is, all new and shiny with a major addition: around 100 TV channels and webcams were added!

You can download the latest snapshot (2007-02-22) pack here.

BTW, we've managed to add all streaming surf cams from www.coastalwatch.com.au to XBMC-TV. That is around 60 cams from Australia's greatest beaches :D Thank you mikesyr for your great work!

Cheers

what are the chances you can decode the url's from TVUPlayer (found at www.tvunetworks.com)? I know there's spiketv, comedy central, etc that have to all be direct links to some stream or another. Anyway, love your project, and I very much appreciate all the work ya do!

I think decoding TVUPlayer might be a bit more difficult. Actually TVUPlayer is just not streaming but it is p2p streaming. That means we would have to write a p2p client on XBMC for it, something I've never done before. Although it is possible to watch TVU on XBMC (http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index.php?title=HOW-TO:_Play_Free_Streaming_TV) I don't think it will be supported natively on XBMC in the nearby future. Right now integrating TVU is not on our official project roadmap but we will be putting our heads together on this. If there are updates on the issue you will be notified here on the blog.

Hey, I was hoping that maybe you could post how you find these feeds. I'd like to help with the project in my spare time. Is there some good keywords ya recommend when searching for channels, or do you just go through a bunch of broadcasters webpages looking for feeds? Any HOWTO ya could write up would be really beneficial. Thanks man, and I hope that I can be of some help.

Hey,

just post me a PM to akaigotchi@gmail.com and I will teach you how to grab those streams. Right now I don't have the time to write a decent tutorial on that one :)

Looking forward to hear from you :)

Hey Mack,

Thank you for offering your precious spare time for the project :) Your help is greatly appreciated as we are in the middle of creating the basis of a XBMC script that will display the collection within XBMC, without the need to download snapshot packs or the kind. If you could plz be so kind to contact me on akaigotchi@gmail.com so we could coordinate your work ;)

As far as the Wiki is concerned I know that we are lacking there a bit. Right now I am moving everything to xbmc-tv.com and thus I don't have the time to write anything decent on the wiki. When the Wiki is moved completely I will begin to write some articles there :) PROMISED!

So if you who is reading this would like to help us documenting the features of the project and write some Wiki articles let me know: akaigotchi@gmail.com

Cheers
